Companies should not overstress SWOT appraisal since an organization whitethorn concentrate too much on its strengths and pull up stakes about the weaknesses. SWOT is an appreciable tool for reflecting how the company is performing but it is not overtly beneficial in proffering a competiti ve advantage. This is because SWOT may emphasize only on the advantages and positive sides of a company (Daft 2009). 2 Evaluation should not be done on specific employees and staff. These people atomic number 18 considered as the most significant body of any organization. This is because the employees provide the labor force that is needed in accomplishing the companys objectives. ... Setting of levelheaded goals is a crucial factor for a companys success this can be achieved by involving the employees in decision making of these goals. Goals set by the managerial can be unrealistic to employees this because managers will set high goals inorder for the company to realize more output. This eventually lowers the morale of the employees hence poor performance. When employees are involved in setting of the companys goal, realistic goals are addressed hence motivating them, and this results in good performance (Daft and Marcic, 2010). For a company to conduct superior evaluation, it sho uld consider the employees as their priority. Employees are the most significant body in an organization, hence the company should be very careful not to lower the morale of the workers when they are conducting their evaluations. This can be achieved through involving them in decision making of the companies goals because realistic goals will be addressed. In the evaluation process, the company should reward the employees who do a superior job. This will help boost their morale hence working aggressively to achieve the goals of he company. An efficient evaluation process should not only consider the companys well being, but it should also consider the well being of employees. The salaries and wages should be reasonable, this will avoid oppressing and under paying the employees. The companys evaluation should show the employees that they care for them. This can be through the companys effort to gear up potential employees on their talents and capabilities. This will ensure that the skills of the employees are improved, hence working to

The K+12 educational program is perceived by the Aquino administration as the long term beginning to poverty. This program aims to give every student a quality education that will make them globally competitive. This will be done by decongesting the curricilum and development quality materials for learning such as textbooks. aside from this, high quality teacher will be given priority. High standards will also be set in Mathematics, English and Science in all levels. Thus eliminating the perception the highschool education is preparatory for college. ISSUES AND CONCERN S One of the major campaign curriculum of Pres. Aquino is the K to 12 educational program and it is also one of the most controversial initiatives. On May 15, President Aquino signed into law the program mandating Philippine pupils to attend kindergarten, six years of elementary school education, four years of junior high school and two years of senior high school. The write officially ended the countrys 10-year basic education cycle, which now exists only in Angola and Djibouti. K to 12 hopes to do away with college remedial classes, by improving the quality of high-school instruction.K to 12 hopes to protect the rights of Filipino children who, at 18, are legally and emotionally still kids, unprepared for work or university.. Some problems that abound with K to 12 Lack of family, school, government resources the herculean task of slaying the need to address more urgen t concerns such as early and massive dropouts. Many schools are currently not ready for Grades 11 and 12. Aside from lack of classrooms, their teachers are not trained to handle higher-level subjects, like calculus for students who want to major in the sciences in university.K to 12 would be distant more difficult to implement in already overcrowded and poorly equipped public schools, where many teachers are insufficiently trained, classes are often held in octuple shifts and most students struggle to make ends meet. The biggest problem of K to 12 has always been, and will always be, the cost. Even if public education is free, families have to spend for exaltation and supplies. An additional two years is a burden for most Filipino families, who want their children to finish school quickly so they can work.

The Da Vinci Code Essay Example for Free

The Da Vinci Code EssayAlso searching for the Grail is a concealed cabal within objet dart Dei, an actual prelature of the Holy See, who wishes to keep the true Grail a secret the revelation of this secret would certainly destroy Christianity. The Da Vinci Code film, c atomic number 18 the book, was considered controversial. It was met with especially harsh criticism by the Roman Catholic Church for the accusation that it is back a two-thousand-year-old coverup concerning what the Holy Grail genuinely is and the concept that deliveryman Christ and bloody shame Magdalene were married and that the union produced a daughter. Many members urged the laity to boycott the film. Two secret organizations, the Priory of Sion and the Council of Shadows, whose existence is a polarizing issue, figure prominently in the story. In the book, Dan Brown insists that the Priory of Sion and all descriptions of artwork, architecture, documents and secret rituals in this novel are accurate. The Da Vinci Code was met with largely negative critical response upon its release on May 19, 2006. However, this did little to hamper its box office performance it earned US$230 million in its opening move weekend and was the second highest-grossing film of 2006 behind Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Mans Chest.Cast * Tom Hanks as Professor Robert Langdon * Audrey Tautou as Sophie Neveu * Ian McKellen as Sir Leigh Teabing * Paul Bettany as Silas * Jean Reno as BezuFache * Alfred Molina as Bishop Aringarosa * Charlotte Graham as Mary Magdalene * Jurgen Prochnow as Andre Vernet * Etienne Chicot as Lt. Jerome Collet * Jean-Yves Berteloot as Remy Jean (RemyLegaludec in the novel) * Jean-Pierre Marielle as Jacques Sauniere * Hugh Mitchell as Young Silas * Seth Gabel as Michael the Cleric * Marie-Francoise Audollent as child Sandrine PlotIn Paris, Jacques Sauniere is pursued through the Louvres Grand Gallery by albino monk Silas (Paul Bettany), demanding the Priorys clef de voute or key roc knroll. Sauniere confesses the keystone is kept in the sacristy of Church of Saint-Sulpice to a lower place the Rose before Silas shoots him. At the American University of Paris, Robert Langdon, a symbologist who is a guest lecturer on symbols and the sacred feminine, is summoned to the Louvre to view the crime scene. He shits the last Sauniere has created an intricate display using black light ink and his own ody and blood. Captain BezuFache (Jean Reno) asks him for his interpretation of the puzzling scene. Silas calls a mysterious man known as The Teacher, revealing that he has killed all four encourageors of the keystone and that all confirmed the same location. He dons a metal cilice on his thigh and proceeds to flog himself with a whip for the sins of murder. Facilitated by Bishop Manuel Aringarosa, Silas then travels to Saint-Sulpice and is admitted by an elderly nun left alone, he excavates beneath the floor of the church to find a stone saying only JOB 3811.He confront s the nun, who quotes the passage Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further. Realizing that he has been deceived, Silas is enraged and kills the nun. Sophie Neveu, a cryptologist with the cut police, enters the Louvre as head and slips Langdon a message which leads him to the bathroom. T here(predicate), Sophie meets him and tells him that he is being tracked, a GPS tracking dot has been (unknown by him) slipped into his jacket and that he is a elemental suspect in the murder case because of a line of text found by the corpse (P. S. find Robert Langdon).Sophie however, believes that Sauniere, who is revealed to be her grandfather, wanted to pass a hidden message on to her (Princesse Sophie, P. S. , was the nickname he used for her), and that he had wanted to bring Langdon into the equation so that he could help her crack the code. buy some time by throwing the tracking device into the back of a truck, the pair begin exploring the Louvre, finding more anagram messages that Saunie re had left behind. Many of these denote to Leonardo da Vincis art, and the pair find a key with a Fleur-de-lis behind Madonna of the Rocks.Langdon deduces from this that Sauniere was a member of the Priory of Sion, a secret order of magnitude associated with the Knights Templar. Pursued by the French police and cut off from the United States Embassy, the pair escape to the Bois de Boulogne where Langdon closely inspects the key. He notices an inscription on the side an cry. The address directs them to the Depository Bank of Zurich where the key is used for a safety deposit box. In the bank, they find Saunieres deposit box and open it using the 10 chassis Fibonacci numbers in order (1123581321).Inside the box, they find a rosewood container, which contains a cryptex a cylindrical container with five alphabetical dials which must be coherent in the correct sequence to spell out a 5-letter code word, in order to open and access the papyrus message inside. Using draw and quarter to open the cryptex would break a vial of vinegar inside, which would dissolve the papyrus and destroy the message. Unfortunately, the police are called by a security guard and they are forced to leave. The bank manager, Andre Vernet, assists them in escaping by taking them as passengers in an armoured van to escape the routine checks of the police. In the back of the truck Langdon and Neveu urinate a lengthy discussion some the cryptex and Neveu says that her grandfather often played games with her involving cryptexes. Langdon says that the cryptex might hold valuable information or another clue about what they are trying to discover. Eventually, they come to a sudden stop consonant and Vernet forces them at gunpoint to give him the cryptex. Langdon tricks Vernet and disarms him and he and Sophie escape with the cryptex in their hands. Langdon suggests that they visit his star, Leigh Teabing (Ian McKellen), for assistance to opening the cryptex.Leigh Teabing turns out to be an enthusiastic seeker of the Holy Grail, which he believes is not actually a cup but instead Mary Magdalene. Mary was gravid at the time of Christs crucifixion, and Teabing tells Sophie that the Priory of Sion was formed to protect the descendants of Jesus. Jacques Sauniere was believed to be a part of this society and Teabing suspects that he was training Sophie to join it also. Silas, meanwhile, breaks into Teabings mansion and attempts to steal the cryptex.Teabing uses his welt to knock Silas out and they escape again, taking the butler, Remy Jean, and Silas with them. The group escapes in Teabings plane, following the next clue to London. Fache learns of their destination, and alerts the London Metropolitan Police to apprehend them at the airport. and Teabing manages to slip the party past the police with a trick of misdirection. Teabing leads Langdon and Neveu to the Temple Church in London, which is shown to be a red herring. Silas is freed by Remy Jean, who is revealed to b e a follower of The Teacher as well. The two take Teabing hostage, and Silas, believing Remy to be The Teacher, holes up in an Opus Dei safehouse. Remy is killed by the mysterious man after deceiving Silas. Silas circumstantially shoots Aringaros and is shot by the police. Aringarosa is taken to the hospital and apprehended by Fache. Langdon is betrayed by Teabing, who is revealed to be the true Teacher. He escapes with the Cryptex, and attempts to find the next clue at Isaac Newtons grave in Westminster Abbey, as Newton was another member of the Priory. Langdon and Neveau catch up with him, and chase him into the nearby hapter house. Teabing explained that he wanted to find Mary Magdalenes remains to develop he was correct about the Holy Grail and threatens to shoot Sophie if Langdon does not open the cryptex. Langdon throws the cryptex into the air, and Teabing fumbles and destroys it. Distraught at not receiving the code, Teabing is arrested, but Langdon had cracked the code (Ap ple, a reference to Newton) and removed the clue from the cryptex before destroying it. Using the clue, they travel to Rosslyn Chapel in Scotland where Magdalenes remains had previously been hidden. The remains had since been moved, but they meet other members of the secret organization that protected her. Sophie is actually Magdalenes descendant and therefore is the current living descendant of Jesus Christ. They vow to keep her safe before going their crack ways. In Paris, Langdon accidentally cuts himself while shaving and the line of blood on the sink reminds him of the Rose Line. He follows the Rose Line and finds the location of the Holy Grail, inhumed under the pyramid in the Louvre. Langdon then kneels above Mary Magdalenes tomb as the Knights Templar did before him. first-rate thriller . The exposition is actually the best and most valuable part of the film A great film to look at and Salvatore Totinos cinematography is pitch-perfect. This is a servicable enough adaptation , but like many others, the book is of rails far better. Robert Langdon is a symbology professor who gets called into a criminal investigation that gets him wrongfully implicated. On the way to figuring things out for himself, he begins a quest to discover the truth about the Holy Grail, the details having some very shocking revelations.I really liked the book. Its a standard thriller sure, but its so well written and thought provoking. In the end, you need to beneficial put personal beliefs aside (same here) and just accept it as riveting and entertaing fiction. Even though it is just fiction, the details of the truth behind the Holy Grail are so well argued that Dan Browns ideas actually do seem like a realistic and slick scenario. With this adaptation, it seems a little stiff, and more overly serious than the book, but its mostly faithful, for the most. Some details had to be changed for time concerns, others for content, but the end result here could be far worse. I enjoyed th is a fair amount when I first saw it, but in revisiting it, some of that has worn off, and the films not as good as I initially thought, but its hardly a failure. Its just not as gripping and suspenseful as the book. The film is really well cast though, and their performances are better than average, especially those by Bettany and McKellan. The location shooting is good, the direction is fair, and having Howard as director ensures that the film has some decent poking and production values. All in all, its okay. World Health Organisation (WHO) describes health promotion

World Health Organisation (WHO) describes wellness promotionThe World Health Organisation (WHO) describes wellness promotion asthe process of enabling citizenry to increase chequer over, and to improve their health. (WHO 1986, p.11)Through discussion with the Head of Establishment and members of rung at Kirklandpark Nursery, staff wished to incorporate diet and nutrition into their room planning. They felt this would be an effective area of focus as the nursery was working towards its silver award in the Health Promoting Nurseries. Staff also informed me that what I carried out would be used as evidence towards this. One of the strategies that educators freighter use to hike the health and wellbeing within childrens services is the enablement dodging. This aims to ensure there are equal chances for all to reach optimum health (Naidoo and Wills, 200086).This strategy also helps people din their familiarity and skills in health matters, so they can recognise and deal with healt h issues in their lives (Naidoo and Wills, 200962).Within the Curriculum for Excellence (CfE) there is a crucial focus on the curriculum area health and wellbeing. In the flummoxs and outcomes there is a section on Food and Health, which aspires children to build on their existing skills and knowledge to film better food choices for a healthier future.According to the Curriculum for Excellenceprinciples and practiceA poorly balanced diet can impart to the risk of developing a number of diseases and conditions including tooth decay, obesity, certain cancers, diabetes, coronary heart disease and stroke (Scottish Executive 2007, p.7)With the CfEs assessment in mind, and having liaised with children and staff, I planned an experience and used the enablement strategy to arouse this. Observation 5 demonstrates that children were enabled with information and knowledge about the reasons for their own health, as we discussed why healthy/unhealthy foods were good and non so good for our bodies. While confident about the general promotion of health and wellbeing, when educating the children on the causes of their own health. I initially found it severe to inform exactly what unhealthy foods can do to our bodies. I consulted my mentor for ideas and she provided me with suggestions on how I could implement this. I strongly feel this is an area for development. The enablement strategy resembles the dominance strategy as it requires practitioners to act as a facilitator, then step back, giving control to society (Naidoo and Wills, 2009)Adventures in Foodland is a pack which aims to direct educators in positively inspiring children to acquire a taste for eating healthily at a young age. (NHS Health Scotland, 2003). I used the enablement strategy to do this.As an educator I found this pack extremely relevant and helpful. In observation 7 the children were condition control as they informed me which foods they would deal to try. I listened and acted as the facilitator by purchasing the foods, helping to prepare them and then stepping back, allowing the children to be in control. The children were given the choice to try the foods which I provided them. A social learning theorist, Albert Bandura believed that children copy others who gather in much power than them e.g. adults (Sayers, 2008 cited in Flanagan 2004) In observation 7 I was a good role model and tried the foods with the children, which encouraged others to try as well.I also used the educational strategy. This is similar to the enablement strategy as it aims to provide people with knowledge and information, in localize for them to make a choice about the way they feel about their health. (Naidoo and Wills, 2000)The educational strategy differs from the behaviour change strategy as it does not make a person change the way they do things but instead encourages change (Naidoo and Wills 2000).The National Care standards, Standard 3.3 Health and Wellbeing stateschildren and young peopl e have opportunities to learn about healthy lifestyles and relationships, hygiene, diet and personal safety (Scottish Executive, 2009).Diet and nutrition relates to this standard and links with the educational and enablement strategy I used. The children were given equal opportunities to learn about these stated in standard 3.3. In observation 7 I used a big book with the children to bring in their ideas on hygiene and personal safety. I strongly believe that doing this was a useful and effective way in gathering ideas to promote the health and social welfare to everyone in the setting.I explained to the children what the book would be used for, I listened to their ideas and worked in a team with all partners. I was also assertive in speechmaking to children about the big book, and consulting them about ideas. My mentor offered valuable feedback and encouraged me to consult more with parents and show them their childs work.A publication by Her Majestys Inspectorate of Educations ( HMIE) coroneted How good is our school? The move to Excellence promotes well-being and respect. In dimension 9 there is an aspect on promoting positive healthy attitudes and behaviours (HMIE, 2006)This links with the educational strategy I used as it encourages and provides people with the knowledge and information they need to make choices.Observation 6 demonstrates how important the educational strategy is in providing children with knowledge of a healthy balanced diet. This allowed children to think about what they eat. Some children thought differently and changed their views in a positive way. However, I found it difficult to explain what was meant by a healthy balanced diet in words that children would understand. I came across the eatwell plate after finishing the project which would have been a fantastic resource to use with the children and help further their understanding. For my continuing professional development I aim to focus on how to better myself in finding other ways to communicate with children effectively when explaining what is meant by a healthy balanced diet.protagonism is a further strategy used to promote health and wellbeing. Advocacy means talking on out for someone, such as a child, parent or a subject matter (Hall and Elliman 2007).Advocacy is also about expanding peoples knowledge on the health matter. (Naidoo and Wills 2009)Improving Health in Scotland The Challenge aims to better the health of people living in Scotland (Scottish Executive, 2003) I used advocacy to do so by speaking out for the children in regards to their diet and nutrition. Observation 2 helped to expand knowledge among children, parents and staff regarding this. I helped change the home corner into a fruit and vegetable shop. Multi-agency working was used and I demonstrated assertiveness in putting my point across when communicating with staff about which ways to promote health and wellbeing.I also employed the enablement and the empowerment strategy when I acted as the facilitator and allowed the children to take control of the experience, as they chose which resources they wanted to go in their shop. The Schools (Health Promotion and Nutrition) (Scotland) Act 2007 puts emphasis on health promotion being a huge part of the activities provided in schools.(Scottish Government, 2007) The 10 learning experiences I carried out played a significant part in promoting the health and wellbeing of others.I feel the enablement and empowerment strategy was successful in promoting health and wellbeing to all partners. The children were given choice and were in control. Parents were also empowered to take control and choose to take on board the knowledge provided. I involved parents by writing on the white board to inform them of what the children had been learning. This ties in with the Nutritional Guidelines for Early Years as it encourages educators to speak to parents daily to inform them what was available for snack (Scottish Executive, 2006) In observation 10 Ms grandfather told me he had never considered making fruit kebabs in the first place but he liked the idea and intended to make them for Ms birthday party at the weekend. A further area I can improve on is building relationships with all parents.I also feel the educational strategy worked in the sense that some children made healthier choices at snack and at home. This also promoted health and wellbeing for parents as their child was influencing healthier choices at home. A few children continued to make unhealthy choices by asking for a biscuit at snack. As the educational strategy encourages rather than instructs change, this did not work well with a couple of the children/parents.If I had more time, I would involve parents and other commercial partners more, such as Sainsburys and deepen children and parents understanding further. My mentor also said if I had longer I could make parents more involved, by inviting them for snack and encouraging them to help out, such as taking the children to the shops to buy snack. In conclusion, I feel my ability to promote the health and wellbeing in the area diet and nutrition to service users in Kirklandpark nursery was done well considering the short period of time I had. I took account of literature, national advice and my mentors feedback. The strategies I used were effective and my findings from literature, government publications and initiatives helped me discuss this. By doing this project it has made me realise there are strategies I need to work on in order to professionally develop.WORD COUNT 1648ReferencesHall, D. and Elliman, D. (2003). Best Value Procurement Bids in Council Services

Best appreciate Procurement Bids in Council ServicesEmpirical WorkThis root is an empirical athletic field on the strategic signifi cigargontce that Best Value (BV) Procurement adds to Birmingham City Council. The aim of the proposed interrogation is to quantify the strategic link between the BV and the contemporary strategic Procurement. Then to realise a model which go forth evaluate the contribution of the strategy when applied to Birmingham City Council.Best Value was introduced into the public sector in 1998, announced through and through the governing bodys white paper Modern Local Government in Touch with the People. This paper introduced extensive reform of local government, including the new initiative of BV. Within this BV is the e-Government, Community Planning, Strategic Partnerships and new political management structures ( fair Paper 1998).The theory of Best Value was aimed at improving local government services this was introduced in the Local Government Act 19 99. BV replaced the old system of Compulsory Competitive Tendering (CCT), and required local authorities to review over a period of five years, the rule in which they conduct all their functions. This would take the form of consultation with the local community to deliver the most effective, economic and economic services (Local Government Act 1999).The Governments intention to reform local government continued and in 2001 they publish a further white paper empower Strong Local Leadership, Quality earth Services. Addressed within this paper were issues that included strong community leadership, continuous improvement, comprehensive performance assessment, monetary freedom and modernisation of finance systems (White Paper 2001).The report in 2001 Delivering Better Services for Citizens, a review of local government procurement in England was published as a consultation paper. The report included the following recommendation there should be clear political responsibility for pro curement, with elected members taking a strategic role in securing outcomes. Best Value is about breaking down the boundaries between the public and private sectors in local service delivery. (The Byatt radical 2001)This research paper is based on the government white papers and reports which initially defined BV in procurement and established Strategic Management tools apply to identify strategic choice within local authorities. The conceptual analysis is based on identifying the congruence of strategic links between the BV definition and elect Strategic Management tools. The focus of the paper is Birmingham City Councils BV practices, and this leave alone be measured against the resulting model. The output of this research is to measure the strategic worth of Best Value and the strategic worth of Birmingham City Councils delivery of Best Value. The paper will evaluate the relative merits of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.MethodologyThe rationale of this chap ter is to study and discuss the research methods that could be used for this empirical research paper. When researching any paper there argon numerous methods for collecting entropy, they do not eternally produce workable data that is easy to analysis. Therefore it is resilient to review and plan the methods that will be employed. Before beginning any of the research a time scale will be composed, this will plan and set targets for the research. This plan is flexible, to allow for any considerable changes to the project due to unexpected research findings. Theoretically, the proposal should draw attention to any difficulties with the research question and the access to the data.Secondary investigateThe secondary research will discuss the theories and concepts which exist on the topic and be presented in the literature review. The findings from the primary research are then tested on these theories for validity (Saunders, M. et al 1997). Tertiary data sources will assist in the s earch for secondary data, this will reveal books, journals, newspaper articles, and Internet addresses on the topic (Bell, J. 2005). This section of the research will present some of the conclusions from the relevant Governments White Papers as a secondary source of research data.Primary lookPrimary research is vital to the project as it produces the raw data on the current situation in the placements. A consideration when gathering primary research data, is obtaining the consent of two the organisation and individuals prior to initiating the research and this data must remain within the scope of the project (Saunders et al 1997).Primary Research MethodsMethodType of ResearchCharacteristics, Benefits and shortcomingsPostal survey numericalCost is lowResponse rate can be poorAnswers whitethorn be incompleteResponses are pre-coded and simple(a) so battalion can understand themthis can mean the quality of information provided is lower than from other methodsTelephone and/or email surveyQuantitativeCost effective method of achieving robust sample allowing generalisations to be madeResponses are pre-coded Certain groups do not have access to the telephone, so may be excluded from the sampleIt is difficult to ask sensitive questions over the telephoneWorks well with employersFace-to-face surveyQuantitativeincludes both open questions as pre-codedCan achieve robust sample allowing generalisations if sufficient numbers are surveyedExpensive and time-consuming to administratorIdeal for gathering sensitive information or exploring complicated issuesinterviewQualitativeIn depth and detailed information can be gatheredInterviewers are allowed more flexibilityAnswers to open questions can be difficult and time-consuming to analyseExpensive and time-consuming to administratorFocus groupQualitativeA group discussion with around 8-12 peopleCan lasts up to 3 hoursCapitalises on interaction between participantsParticipants are not representative of wider population which does not allow for generalisationGood method for gathering sensitive dataRequires careful and unbiased analysisCase studyQualitativeResearcher gains understanding of a individuals experienceProvides good quotations and cryptic dataCan bring alive other research, such as survey dataFindings cannot be generalised to a wider populationQualitative ResearchQualitative research is not just quality, it is the starting point where individuals understand and can talk about their lives. Qualitative studies attempt to explain social phenomena (for showcase experience, attitudes, behaviour, interactions and belief) in terms of the wider contexts of individuals lives (Cresswell, J 1994). To gain this type of data methods such as direct, unstructured interviewing, or observation of real-life settings (ethnography) are used. The data that qualitative methods of research collect is usually words, rather than numbers, in the form of transcripts. That data is typically unstructured, and statistical methods cannot be used in its analysis (King, N. 1998).Individuals are surveyed or studied in order to understand their experience from their perspective, that is, what matters to them, rather than from the standpoint of the researcher or the professionals. Observational studies have been undertaken to understand the informal culture, of the organisation (King, N. 1998).Quantitative ResearchQuantitative research generates numerical data or data that can be converted into numbers, for example clinical trials or the study Census. Numbers are the main type of data that these methods collect, and those numbers will be analysed using mathematical or statistical techniques. Surveys that take the form of questionnaires are usually quantitative (Cresswell, J 1994).ConclusionThis paper will combine both quantitative and qualitative approaches, using a qualitative study to overtake the design of a subsequent quantitative study and by mixing elements of the one approach into the other. Ques tionnaires can contain both quantitative and qualitative questions. This paper will use both a quantitative and quantitative approach to the questions. This will be in the form of a ratings scale (1 to 5), whereas the qualitative questions will present a box where people can write in their own words. To obtain the strategic value in BV, a case study approach will be used this will gauge the working practices and will enhance the data from the questionnaires. The secondary research will focus on the Governments white papers, and will introduce discussion from books and journals written on the subject.ReferencesBell, J (2005) (4th Edition) Doing Your Research Project,Open University Press, BuckinghamCresswell, J (1994) Research Design (Qualitative and Quantitative Approaches),Sage publications, capital of the United KingdomKing, N. The role of government in economic development

The role of governing body in frugal developmentUsing national and internationally characters critically assess the role of government in the man shape upment of the economy and the economic development.Government plays an important role in keeping the economy stable. Economic during extreme regression such as creation War II force governments to load down part in rehabilitating the economy. During 1980s, the twistth of many a(prenominal) developing countries faced a serious down turn (Adelman, 1999). However, many Asian countries assisted by their government ar able to maintain or veritable(a) improve the economic development. Their government found their way out(a) by avoiding deflation and restriction of import and wage. Instead, they promoted their export capacity which allows foreign country to trade and invest in their market. The US federal government is another example of government managed economy. By adjusting the tax, m singley supply, or the wages, the government s are capable of controlling the govern of economic growth in which affect the amount of employment and price, in turn affect demand and supply. During the Great Depression, in the period of 1930s, government faced economic recessions (Governments Role, 2010). By concerning about slow growth measure, the government treated this situation as the most serious. They greatly reduced taxes rate and funded the money supply themselves. Later in 1970s, the government faced against another problem, the inflation. To deal with inflation, government leaders controlled the situation by restricting the rate of demand, avoiding tax cut, and maintaining the growth in money supply. For decades, Thai government has focus mainly on industrialization policy along its economic situation. To stabilize economic development, they improvise industrial market to be their priority. First, the government allowed the private sector to support the industrial development. accordingly they would avoid forming any investment that might compete with the industrys private support. These strategies are used to support the private sector, providing governments support, and promote people to compete. However, to be able to take part in international competitive market, the government would have to enhance their productivity rate in both quality and quantity. Therefore, the government reinforces skilled advertize and more advance technology to assist industries to increase the standard of their products. With government assistance, we were able to cooperate with Indochina countries in their international trade and investment(Adelman, 1999).Q3. Think about the company between regimen production and climate. Write as essay which covers a list of the various ways that production, distri only ifion, and consumption contribute or dash off make on the climate. One of the main factors regarding agriculture is climate. As climate change, it causes serious damage on soil, crops, livestock, pest, or even diseases. Therefore, we human tried to find solutions that could neutralize these damages.Policies are made to solve problem from climate changes. First the policy called Agricultural subsidy and trade policies(Antle, 2010). This method was established since 1930 it promote remotemer to grow funded crop rather than trying to adapt to climate change. This policy controls the farmers activity. It eventually twisted international market. The second policy or, Production and income insurance policies and disaster assistance(Antle, 2010) is a long term method that insurance disasters. This policy insures that farmer ordain receiver partial payment in return if their farms are damage but natural disaster. The third policy is called Soil and water conservation policies and ecosystem services (Antle, 2010). This policy protects the fertility of soil and water in a certain area. stray are ordered to be taken out and replaced by trees. However, this policy do not granted the wish to adapt to climate change even though it promotes environmental value (Antle, 2010). The next policy is Tax policies (Antle, 2010). Because taxation affects almost e very(prenominal)thing, it gain control of adaptation by speed up the disparagement of assets or promote investment that are eco-friendly. However, taxes can only assist agriculture indirectly. It is more effective in other area in economy, so this policy is often neglected. The fifth policy is the Energy policies (Antle, 2010). We became more and more concern about our climate condition. Therefore, we are more interest in non- fossil-based readiness (Antle, 2010). Food production can help fix this problem too. Crops or waste product could be turned into heartiness. The cost of this method is also very low. Environmental policies and agricultural land use is another policy that contribute to climate change(Antle, 2010). This policy manages the amount of land used since climate change varies in different areas. For exampl e, animal waste has been placed together in a specific site so that the place can be used later.Unk this instantingly, food production or agriculture could be useful in helping the environment. Since climate changes could not be avoided, every(prenominal) available resource is used to counteract it. From animal waste to taxation, they all have their own values to adapt against climate changes.Q4. Where is the future demand for cipher likely to be the greatest and wherefore? What sources of energy are likely to dominate in the short run future? In the longer run? Should we be optimistic or disheartened about the short-run and long-run prospects for energy?India is a home to over 15 % of the world existence (India Energy Data, 2010). With high growing economic rate, they drive high amount of energy resources equal to developed countries such as US or Japan. In future, the demand be givens to increase callable to higher rate of population and vehicle. As the world 5th largest energy consumer, India used 3.7% of the worlds commercial energy (Shanker, n.d.). In contrast, the availability of resources is low it is likely that someday resources will be insufficient. According to statistics, 8 percent growth of DGP rate would also require higher commercial energy, such as coal, from 3.7% to 6.1% and primary energy supply, such fossil fuel, from 2.2% to 5.1% (Shanker, n.d.). However, every resource is limited especially for coal. Not only they are shortage in the amount, but they also provide low quality of energy including the damage to the surrounding environment.Knowing that someday we will use up all these nonrenewable resources, we also discovered other source of reliable energy such as solar energy. Many scientists assure that in short future, solar energy can be No.1 energy source (What will solar energy need to dominate in future, 2010). With unlimited amount of energy, the sun has a potential of creating solar power enough to fill the need of every si ngle human being. Moreover, energy provided by the sun is acceptably clean and it does not require any maintenance (Future Uses of Solar Energy, 2009). However, this energy resource is cool it incomplete. Solar energy does not have the power to complete with fossil fuel. It also is costly to obtain this energy and it still requires farther research. Despite the incomplete factors of solar energy, this type of energy is likely to dominate the short run future.Nuclear power is the second to nothing in creating energy. Like solar energy, nuclear energy leaves no trace of carbon behind (Liptak, 2009). The amount of energy it is capable is extremely high. However, nuclear energy has its own disadvantages. Start off with the tippy cost of uranium. The amount nuclear power plant requires could be estimated around four million tons. Calculating from today uranium price ($50/lb) it could, one day, suddenly raise up to twice its original cost (Liptak, 2009). The other disadvantage would be its risk factors. Nuclear power is dangerous, and its toxic waste is passing contaminated. Scientist still has to do research no how to keep it safe. But the usage today is already abundant it supplies energy for over 7.5% of total consumptions (Liptak, 2009). So it is now slowly crawling to the peak of long term energy. Both solar and nuclear energy are to be look forward to. I believed they are capable of replacing existing nonrenewable resources like fossil fuel. Future science and technology would be able to reduce the cost of these energies. Finally, it will be both worthy and safe.Q5. Regionalization verses Globalization, discuss how globalization has led to regionalization and the tensions that have arisen between these two forces, as these are involved in the current trends towards formation of Continental trading blocs and trade regimes. Compare and contrast the protectionist tendencies of the 2000s with those of the 1930s.Many countries economy tried to expand their market internationally. Globalization process led them worldwide. However, sometime, it encourages these countries to invest in the small area instead. The barriers between cultures may interfered the market (Clancy, 2009). So it is more convenient to invest in area with same sprightliness style or belief. This is why some countries change their method from globalization to regionalization. Trading with neighbor is obviously easier than trading with far foreigners. The price rate too differs between places. For example, text moderate used by Thai university cannot be sold in US. Why is this so? The price rates between Thailand and US differ so over practically that the prices of books made in US is unaffordable for Thais. Thats why books were printed in here just for us, and they are strictly restricted by the US.Since is it harder for South East Asian countries to do trading with United State compare to the nearby countries. These countries established their own market with neighbori ng countries to strengthen themselves. ASEAN is one of them. With cooperating countries, to trade with far foreign countries is far easier.During the early 1930s, protectionism kept US trading away from outside. With low international trading partners and less economic tools, this period were known to be disastrous (Clancy, 2009). In 2000s, the United Stated seems to have learned their lesson. The tendencies in protectionism decline allowing global trade to grow. When money supply is stable, investor again have confident in the market, therefore, economic rate growth. Most people agree that protectionism is not the right way out. This method in both periods risked the market with depression state.Q6. Describe and explain the differences in age composition of populations in advanced countries and those in less-developed ones. What economic and social problems do these populations characteristics create in each case?In the different living environments, the different is population age is distinctive. Fertility rate is one factor that decides the amount of population (World Population Prospects, Volume III). In well-developed countries, fertility rate due to technology and medication is higher compare to the developing countries. This is why age composition in these two environments differs. In advanced countries, the ratios of older persons are much higher compare to the less-developed countries. According to statistics, the rates of people with age above 65 tend to rise from 15.3% in 2005 to 25.9% in 2050, whilst the population of the young ones down the stairs age of 15 will slightly decline from 17 % to 15.6% in the same period. For the less-developed countries, population of old-age people increase from only 3.2% to 6.6 %, while population of juvenility under 15 will apparently decrease from 41.5 % to 28.9 % due to lesser fertility rate. However, these children do not just vanish, as time changes the ratios of population age around 15-64 will rise up from 5 5% to 64.5% in this period of time (World Population Prospects, Volume III).As overall rate of young population decrease while the rate of old people increase the rate of dependency too will rise. During the period of 2005 2050, in the developed countries, the ratio rate of dependency per 100 working person rise from 47.7 to 71.2. This will obviously cause independency problem for people with age over 65 since the pattern of working population compare to retired people is decreasing. In contrast, ratios of dependency per working people in the less-developed area drop from 81.8 to 55.1 which means, children in these regions are stepping into workable coif while old (retired) dies (World Population Prospects, Volume III).The dependency rate not only affects peoples living, but it also affects economic performance. If the populations of workable people increase, the income per capita of this group will too rise. In the less developed countries, economic growths are effected by growi ng of working-age population (World Population Prospects, Volume III). As the income per capita grows, people tend to spend more which motivate active economic market. In this period, the workable population boosts the rates of economic growth. However, the rates differ in developed countries. As the workable population decrease, the countries economic growth will too delay.
